Rebecca Tiffee, incoming class of 2024
Who is Rebecca Tiffee?
In January 2020, Rachel Jada Tiffee was accepted for the fall semester 2020 at the College of the Ozarks. She is 18 years old and graduated with over a 4.0 GPA from Victory High School in Tulsa. Her aspiration is to become a psychologist and help people. She is industrious and determined to graduate from college debt free.
Rebecca is passionate about the Lord, horses, painting, drawing, singing, and drama. Her scholarship from the college will pay for her tuition plus she will work 15 hours a week on the campus. She is currently scheduled to start work July 25, 2020 on the campus for the duration of the summer.
Why should the OK State DAC members support Rebecca Tiffee?
When Rebecca was asked why additional scholarship money was needed. Her response was $8,900 is needed to pay for her room, board and books. Currently, this appears as an overwhelming amount needed.
Supporting Rachel financially is part of the proposed Denslow Administration’s State Regent’s project and is a “win-win” for our state as we can double dip with providing an educational scholarship and supporting the College of the Ozarks (which is one of the our National Society’s goal) at the same time. In addition, Rachel is an Okie. She is confident she will be available to meet OK State DAC members.
Some of you may be unfamiliar with College of the Ozarks in Missouri. The Wall Street Journal recently described it as “one of the most unusual little liberal arts colleges in the country.” College of the Ozarks, founded in 1906, is a no-tuition college. Every full-time student works at a campus job to help defray his or her expenses. “The mission of this unique institution focuses on providing a Christian education to those who are found worthy, but who are without sufficient means to obtain such training.” The college’s vision is to develop citizens of good character who are well-educated, hardworking, and patriotic.
